Yazhou Ancient City is the southernmost ancient city in China, and also the largest plantation and transportation base for out-of-season fruit and vegetables in Sanya.
It is 42 kilometers away from the city center. Under the protection plan, Sanya Yacheng Ancient City will become a mixture of various cultures, including mainly the “Tianya” culture, and also the “top of Tianya” culture represented by Yazhou Ancient City; the exile culture represented by Shuinan Village; the Confucius, Taoist and Buddhist Cultures represented by Yazhou Academy, Dayun Temple, Nanshan Mountain and Dong- tian Park; the maritime Silk Road trade culture represented by Dagang; the traditional handicraft culture represented by Huang Daopo; the landscape culture represented by the tropical views and “the eight scenic spots in Yazhou”; the ethnic culture represented by Li, Han and Hui customs; and the revolutionary culture represented by Yacheng, Baoping and Meishan. Yacheng Confucius Temple, the famous sightseeing spot within the ancient city, used to be the highest educational institution of ancient Yacheng.
As the southernmost Confucius Temple in China, it has fostered many talents in history.
